Shawn Schlegel, the founder and current Designated Broker of Schlegel Real Estate, established his firm in 2008 and has successfully brokered around 500 closed transactions. Appointed to the Arizona Association of REALTORS® Board of Directors in 2018, he takes pride in this affiliation, upholding their strict Code of Ethics in his daily practice. In addition to founding the realty business, Shawn purchased and published a well-established newspaper, The Communicator, in Maricopa. The paper garnered several statewide community service and journalistic excellence awards during his five-year tenure as publisher. Shawn’s degree in communications from the University of Kansas has been invaluable in both journalism and real estate.

Shawn Schlegel's early exposure to property management comes from his father, who enjoyed buying and managing apartment properties. As a youth, Shawn would fix and paint apartments between tenant moves. When it came time to renovate their new home near Camelback Mountain with his then-fiancé, MacKenzie, Shawn eagerly took on the rehabbing of their 1955-built Camelback Road property, designing and overseeing much of the work himself.
They were on the engagement “fast track,” Shawn recalls. Once engaged, they purchased their house, married in Maui in May 2016, remodeled their home, and welcomed their baby, Zoey, all while moving into their creatively updated residence by February 2018. Shawn's life has transformed dramatically in just under two years, as he, MacKenzie, their daughter Zoey, and son Hudson now enjoy living in their beautifully renovated home.
Originally born in California, Connie grew up in Oklahoma with eight siblings. That is where she met and married Jack 43 years ago. Connie and Jack have owned several successful floor covering stores, which has provided Connie with the sales and customer service experience essential to her success as a realtor today. Connie began her real estate career working for a Custom Home Builder as an on-site real estate agent in Ahwatukee, assisting clients with the sale and design of their custom and semi-custom homes. As the two subdivisions were nearing completion, Connie explored more of Arizona for future endeavors, leading her and her husband to discover Maricopa, which they immediately knew was the perfect place for them.
Making Maricopa their home 30 years ago, they found the desert and the lifestyle it offers to be amazing. At that time, the land in Maricopa was mostly undeveloped, and Highway 347 from Interstate 10 to Maricopa was just two lanes with minimal traffic. Soon after, Connie joined Phoenix Metro Properties, where she could apply her sales and real estate experience to become very knowledgeable in land and home development and sales, particularly in the Hidden Valley area. Since their arrival, there have been wonderful changes in Maricopa, and Connie takes pleasure in being part of it. As a realtor, she has had the opportunity to work with many buyers, sellers, and investors to help them achieve the best results for their needs.
